Class C Motor Home-A Good Choice?

Author: Eriani Doyel

Are you familiar with the Class C motor home? It is sometimes called the "mini motor home ? and it is distinctive in its looks because the cabin extends over the cab of the RV, unlike in a Class A where the whole coach looks like a big rectangular bus, and a Class B, which is a van with a pop up top. The Class C motor home is a popular choice for both couples and families, because it has all of the amenities of the bigger Class A, but it is not as expensive and is nearly as spacious. If you are trying to decide which motor home is right for you, here are some more facts about the Class C motor home:

The Class C makes the most of its space. As stated before, the cabin extends over the cab. This space is usually used for storage or extra sleeping space-such as a queen size bed. A Class C motor home often has slide-outs as well, which are areas which extend outwards when your RV is parked, giving the RV even more living and moving room. The ceiling is high enough that the average size person will not even have to worry about ducking.

The Class C motor home may also be able to save you money on your taxes. If you finance your Class C you can claim the interest on your taxes and home mortgage interest. Because a Class C motor home has a bathroom, sleeping area, and a kitchen it classifies as a home (or second home) but you will need to talk to your accountant about the specifics.

A Class C can have state of the art appliances, an entertainment center with flat screen TV and satellite capabilities, and luxurious furnishings with designer fabrics. If you want something more basic-don't worry, you can still be comfortable in a basic Class C.

How much will a Class C RV cost? The prices range from about $50,000 to around $100,000 as compared to a Class A which has prices starting at $100,000 and going up to well over $400,000.
