Teak Tips: Caring for your Teak Furniture

Author: John Thompson

The summer season provide countless hours of fun and recreation for the whole family. Its a time meant to be enjoyed outside in the fresh air and warm sunshine. Theres nothing more rewarding than to walk outside with a great book in one hand and cool glass of water in the other to unwind for a bit in your aluminum lawn and garden belongings. Although, this type of outdoor furniture is fine, if you dont know how to clean and maintain them, then they wont last long.

One of the most crucial to-dos is making sure you clean and wax the frame often. Since these pieces are mainly open to harsh elements on a daily basis throughout the summer months, its drastic to wash them down after each use. Suntan oil, sweat and environmental particles such as pollen and unfiltered water are the most disasterous and damaging examples of elements to which lawn and patio valuables are exposed.

Its critical that you remember to never use a pressure washer for cleaning. By doing this youre forcing the valuables to endure a lot of water at a very hard pressure. Most of the time the framing cant handle it, and can even bend or break. Since its impractical to keep all destructive elements off of the lawn and garden items, its crucial to wash it down about every 2-3 weeks. If at all possible its advisable to wipe down the lawn and lawn possessions as soon as possible to steer clear of any long lasting effects.

When youre cleaning it, make sure you use a detergent in conjunction with warm water. Because the chief things the lawn and lawn valuables is exposed to are oils and lotions, its best you use a degreaser, or are strong fighting soap. You want to make sure that your pieces will last longer than just one season, and can be experienced by others for years to come. If taken care of ideally, then you wont have to relentlessly go and buy more lawn and outdoor belongings every year.

By and large people tend to leave this type of belongings outside all year long. If youre looking to keep your pieces in top shape, you might want to consider storing them in a shed or outside building. When exposed to the weather, especially rain and frost, your lawn and lawn furniture will not last more than 3 or 4 years in the best condition. Rust and weakened frames are a direct result of harsh elements and will leave your lawn and outdoor furniture looking old and rough. Overall, proper care and maintenance isnt too difficult and if youre careful, youll be able to relax every summer without having the stress of being nervous about unattractive valuables ever again.
